Already existing academic literature is an essential source for this research.

Even if the Diasbola project is, at this moment, the only research combining sport and migration studies in a Portuguese context, there exists a huge variety of relevant national and international publications on related subjects (such as Portuguese Emigration, Sport and Migration). Presented here is a selection of essays which have been important to this study by the team members, concentrating topically on the area of Portuguese migration and Portuguese football. Furthermore, we do also provide a mulitfaceted literature data base about the topics under research.
