The Football Migration Network (foomi-net) was established in January 2009
and is currently hosted at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon. The purpose of the network is to support research on Football and Migration in its broadest cultural, social, economic and political dimensions.
It aims to do so by:

a) providing a platform for researchers who are working on the topic,

b) facilitating access to their work and information on projects,

c) promoting and organizing academic events and meetings,

d) motivating the establishment of international research teams,

e) publishing news alerts on publications and developments in this area of research.

foomi-net consists of members who work on football migration at large and/or on particular topics which are of interest for our Study Groups.

The criteria for membership are publications and/or a PhD-project or a funded project on football and migration or relating to a topic of interest outlined in one of our Study Groups.
Members are encouraged to propose new members to be invited for application. For application procedures see Members.
